Understanding Submetering
Submeters are privately owned meters, typically installed and managed by the landlord, property owner, estate agency or Body Corporate. These meters operate independently from Eskom and municipal billing systems.
All revenue generated is paid directly to the registered owner, who remains responsible for settling the main utility account with Eskom or the local municipality.
